In 2001, CORECHED modified its statutes and simplified its organisation to be able to function more efficiently.
It now has two governing bodies:
- the strategic steering group, a decision-making body instance with representatives of the funding agencies
- the scientific council, an advisory body with representatives of institutions and researchers whose job it is to prepare the decisions of the steering group.
Each of these two bodies meets twice a year.
